18 CENTURY ITALIAN NEOCLASSICAL BRONZE FIGURE OF A MUSE
This product is an 18th-century Italian neoclassical bronze figure of a muse. This figure has an original figure dating back to 3rd c. B.C., as well as a Roman copy of the Muse of History, called Hellenistic-Antonine dating back to 2nd c. The Roman copy is currently in Walters Museum, Baltimore. It stands on an oval base in a contrapposto pose. This figure extensively portrays the sensuality of the maiden’s forms and poses in intricate draped clothing during the Hellenistic period.
